Adventures in 21st-Century China

A photography class to improve darkroom skills is being offered at Reston Community Center, 2310 Colts Neck Rd., from 7 to 9 p.m. Oct. 26-Nov. 16.

The class (registration number 102387-7A) costs $45 for those who live or work in Small District 5 and $65 for nonresidents.

Photographer, Ceramic Artist Host Reception


Photographer David Ernst of Springfield and ceramic artist David Cowdrill of Great Falls will have a reception from 4 to 7 p.m. Nov. 12 at Artists' Undertaking Gallery, 309 Mill St., in Occoquan.

Classical Vocalists to Bring Works to Life


Amadeus Concerts Inc. of Great Falls brings soprano Jessica Swink, mezzo-soprano Patrice Houston, tenor Israel Lozano and baritone Matthew Osifchin to St. Francis Episcopal Church, 9220 Georgetown Pike, at 4 p.m. Sunday.

They will perform arias and duets by Bizet, Mozart, Puccini and Verdi.

Tickets are $20, $15 for seniors, $10 for college students and free to students younger than 18.
