Popular fall wine-tasting seminars are back at the McLean Community Center, 1234 Ingleside Ave.

The 90-minute seminars cost $45, $40 for McLean tax district residents.

Wednesday's session starts at 7:30 p.m. and is on boutique wineries and independent producers.

Want to try cooking at your hearth? The Sully Historic Site, 3601 Sully Rd. in Chantilly, is offering lessons in open hearth techniques from 10 a.m. to 1 pm. Saturday. Help prepare sweets and treats from the 18th and 19th centuries that were typically served at Lee family Federal period dinners.

The cost is $35 per adult and includes supplies and desserts. Registration and advance payment are required. Call 703-437-1794.
