Can't Miss

[concert] British rapper Louise Harman, who calls herself "the biggest midget in the game," is having a big month. Her single "Love Me or Hate Me" hit No. 1 on MTV's "Total Request Live" countdown last week, and her full-length debut, "Public Warning," is being released by Def Jam at the end of the month. Harman's tight, rapid delivery of wry, witty lyrics is backed by an eclectic mix of heavy U.K. grime, contemporary production and old-school beats. This is hip-hop at its best: fresh, real and unpredictable.

With Scissors

[movie] Adapted from the eyebrow-raising memoir by Augusten Burroughs, Ryan Murphy's film tells the story of the son of an alcoholic man and unstable woman who is adopted by his mother's therapist. Against all odds, Burroughs finds himself in an even more bizarre circumstance than before, as the household of Dr. Finch turns out to be no less unorthodox than his own. Starring Annette Bening, Brian Cox, Alec Baldwin, Gwyneth Paltrow and Joseph Cross, "Running With Scissors" has the potential to be an enjoyable comedy, even if some of the real-life participants dispute the veracity of the events.
