Chinese cooking is the topic of lessons from 9 a.m. to noon Nov. 4 at Reston Community Center Hunters Woods, 2310 Colts Neck Rd.

Through demonstrations and hands-on lessons, the course (Reg#: 102158-7A) teaches students recipes, including pork dumplings with dipping sauces, braised mushrooms and roast duck.

Pairing wines with chocolates is the subject of a Nov. 3 wine seminar at McLean Community Center.

"Win Their Hearts With Wine and Chocolates" is part of the popular fall wine-tasting seminars and features wine paired with handcrafted chocolate.

All seminars are from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at the center, 1234 Ingleside Ave.

Cost for each session is $45, $40 for McLean tax district residents.

The next sessions are Nov. 8 on pinots (blanc, gris/grigio, noir, meunier and pinotage) and Nov. 15 on champagne and sparkling wines.
