· The inaugural installment of the Arlington Arts Center's outdoor sculpture series finds three artists intervening in the landscape. Be sure to step out back where Jackson Martin installed a small cypress inside a pedestal-mounted glass box. The clever work references Damien Hirst and bonsai while prompting questions about our relationship to nature. Also on view: Renee Rendine's tree trunks dressed in pleated mesh skirts that, like a few choice brush strokes, add movement to the landscape. On the front lawn, Laura Amussen's painted bamboo pyramids act -- unintentionally, I presume -- as giant leaf collectors.
