HALLOWEEN AT THE ZOO
Events Expected to Jam Roads
Traffic bottlenecks are expected along Connecticut Avenue the next two evenings because of events at the National Zoo, construction and other activities, officials said.
The National Zoo is hosting its annual Halloween event, Boo at the Zoo, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. today and tomorrow. Officials expect 6,000 people each night and backups on and nearby streets.
PR. GEORGE'S CRIME
Cheverly Dog Walker Finds Body
A neighbor walking a dog yesterday morning discovered a body in the driver's seat of a parked Ford Focus along a footpath at 57th Place not far from Tuxedo Road in Cheverly, Prince George's County police said.
The slain man, identified as Jonathan M. Scott, 28, of the Lanham area, had been shot in the upper body, police said.
The shooting, which occurred between 1 and 2 a.m., appears to have resulted from a drug deal, said a law enforcement source who spoke on condition of anonymity because the investigation is ongoing.
