President Bush is not the only one who has been sinking in the polls. Joe Gibbs, the coach of the Washington Redskins, is also going up in smoke.

For those readers who don't follow football, the Skins are having a lousy season.

The Redskins popularity poll was taken at the Cafe Milano bar in Georgetown. The poll figures were:

· Joe Gibbs is doing a good job, 35 percent.

· Joe Gibbs knows nothing about football, 56 percent.

· New York Giants fan, 9 percent.

Everyone in the bar had something to say.

A Gibbs supporter said, "You heard Gibbs say he was going to change the course. He said, 'I don't like to lose any more than my coaches or my owner do, and I know the fans are not satisfied and I'm not satisfied. We are going to win. It takes much longer than we hoped, but we sure aren't going to cut and run. That's what the Dallas Cowboys, the New York Giants and the Philadelphia Eagles would like us do.' "

An anti-Gibbs fan laughed, "Gibbs has no defense. His defensive line is a paper wall, and his defensive backs couldn't intercept a pass if their salaries depended on it. Everyone knows they aren't putting out 100 percent."
