Chocolate Pudding Cake

8 servings

This is from Peter Brett, formerly of the Blue Duck Tavern. His cake is a cinch to make and will surely please any chocoholic. Serve with vanilla or coffee ice cream. The more the cake cools, the thicker the pudding will get.

For the batter:

1 cup flour

2 teaspoons baking powder

1/4 teaspoon salt

2/3 cup sugar

1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1/2 cup coarsely chopped walnuts

1/2 cup whole or low-fat milk

4 tablespoons ( 1/2 stick) unsalted butter
