BAGHDAD, Nov. 3 -- The U.S. military announced Friday that three Marines died Thursday from "wounds sustained due to enemy action " in Iraq's western province of Anbar.
The three were assigned to Regimental Combat Team 7, the military said in a statement that provided no other details. Their deaths brought to seven the number of combat deaths on Thursday. Three soldiers were killed by a roadside bomb in Baghdad and another Marine was killed in Anbar, the military said earlier Friday.
Since the beginning of November, 11 U.S. service members have been killed in action in Iraq. October was the deadliest month for the U.S. military in Iraq in nearly two years, with at least 105 killed.
