Rock-a-Bye Everybody

Thursday, November 16, 2006

Reading to a couple of kids while holding them in a chair is a lapful. Managing a trio is impossible, as custom rocker-maker Hal Taylor of Fredericksburg discovered after his third was born. So he created the "storytime" chair, a "four-passenger" rocker with a child-size ledge on either arm.

Taylor, who also makes conventional-size rockers, is among 190 artisans selling their distinctive wares at the 19th annual Washington Craft Show this weekend.

Washington Convention Center, 801 Mount Vernon Pl. NW, tomorrow through Sunday. Admission: $14. Information: 800-832-7813 or http://www.craftsamericashows.com/.
