I'm attending Old Dominion University in Norfolk this year and have lived in the area for a majority of my life.
It is known that several years ago, our school received a contract to construct an on-campus magnetic-levitation (maglev) train to run between both sides of the campus. It is the only thing on campus that has not been completed on time, and quite possibly never will be finished.
Every time I walk past it, I give a little chuckle at the failure higher education has given us. I even coined a nice little joke to go with it:
"I finished my homework before they did the maglev!"

You want to hear from me about schools bursting with excitement? Welcome to my school! Tauxemont Cooperative Preschool, "our little school in the woods" in south Alexandria. I've been involved with preschools for almost 30 years, and when I interviewed at Tauxemont five years ago, I knew they had to hire me because I wasn't going to leave. I was home.
