Some of the major projects that U.S. Rep Steny H. Hoyer (D-Md.) has backed that have benefited Maryland's 5th Congressional District:
National Archives: Secured $250 million in federal funding to open a preservation facility in College Park. The project brought 950 jobs to Prince George's County.

Patuxent River Naval Air Station: Protected 20,000 jobs by preserving the base during the BRAC process. Also directed $354.8 million in construction funding to the St. Mary's County military base.
Indian Head Naval Surface Warfare Center: Protected 3,500 jobs by preserving the base, Charles County's largest single employer, through several BRAC rounds. Also directed $91.6 million in construction funding to the military base.
NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center: Secured more than $400 million in funding for the center in Greenbelt, including the Hubble Space Telescope Program.
Beltsville Agricultural Research Center: Protected 1,500 jobs and more than 7,000 acres of open space for the research center. Also secured $138.5 million in funding to renovate the center in Prince George's.
Woodrow Wilson Bridge: Helped secure $1.5 billion in federal funding to replace the bridge across the Potomac River that connects Prince George's and Northern Virginia.
