CHARLOTTESVILLE, Nov. 22 -- Sean Singletary scored 20 points and J.R. Reynolds had 18 to lead Virginia to an 81-64 win over UNC Asheville on Wednesday night in the first meeting between the schools.

The Cavaliers (3-0) opened up a 12-0 lead in the first five minutes and led throughout the game. Virginia went into halftime with a 38-22 lead and came out strong in the second half, leading by 22 points with 14 minutes 25 seconds left in the game.

Adrian Joseph added 14 points, including four three-pointers. Jason Cain pulled down 10 rebounds and Singletary made all 12 of his free throws.

The Bulldogs shot just 30.5 percent. Their leading scorer -- Bryan Smithson, with 16 points -- made just 4 of 15 shots.

Donovan Jones scored 14 and Joey Harrel added nine points for Asheville. Smithson, a transfer from Middle Tennessee, has scored in double figures in all four games this season.

Virginia maintained its perfect record at the new $130 million John Paul Jones Arena.
