BUENOS AIRES, Argentina -- President Bush's twin daughters reveled Sunday in a soccer game in Argentina, sitting across the stadium from soccer star Diego Maradona _ a fierce critic of their father.

Jenna and Barbara Bush, wearing the blue-and-yellow jerseys of the South American squad Boca Juniors, did not wave to television cameras that sporadically panned in on them during the game.

Watching from Boca's skybox at "La Bombonera" stadium, the twins were kept far from the fans and journalists seated below them.

Maradona watched the match from his own VIP box on the opposite side of the stadium. He was honored with the unveiling of a statue in his honor before the match.

Maradona is a forceful critic of U.S. policy in the region and joined a leftist protest led by Venezuela President Hugo Chavez last year against President Bush's appearance at the Summit of the Americas at the seaside resort of Mar del Plata.

Last Sunday, one of the twins had her purse stolen while touring the historic Buenos Aires district of San Telmo, garnering widespread public attention and dominating local TV newscasts.

Argentine officials did not say which twin was robbed. ABC News, citing unidentified law enforcement reports, reported that Barbara Bush's purse and cell phone were taken.
