Holiday Concert

The City of Fairfax Band and the Fairfax Choral Society will present a free concert at 7 p.m. Saturday at Fairfax High School, 3500 Old Lee Hwy.

Tickets are required to guarantee seats, and ticket-holders must be seated by 6:45 p.m., when open seating begins for those without advance tickets. Pre-concert music starts at 6 p.m.; Santa Claus will be in the lobby.

Art Show and Sale

Watercolors, oils, glass and photography are among the mediums represented in an art-for-sale showing by the Springfield Art Guild from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, through Jan. 31 at the Franconia Government Center, 6121 Franconia Rd.

Evening of Jazz

Jazz pianist and composer Fred Hersch will perform at 8 p.m. tomorrow at CenterStage, 2310 Colts Neck Rd., in Reston.

Hersch, who has battled HIV for 18 years, is a spokesman and fundraiser for AIDS services and education agencies.

A Ten-Gallon Santa Hat?

Riders in the Sky present "Christmas the Cowboy Way" at 3:30 and 7 p.m. Saturday at the Alden Theatre, 1234 Ingleside Ave., in McLean.

Tickets for McLean district residents are $22 and $15 for students. For non-McLean district residents, tickets are $27 and $20 for students.
