MLS will announce tomorrow that next season's league championship game will be played at RFK Stadium, sources confirmed this morning.
MLS Commissioner Don Garber and United President Kevin Payne will make the announcement at the stadium at a midday news conference.
MLS Cup has not been held in Washington since 2000, when Kansas City defeated Chicago, 1-0, before 39,159. It was also played at RFK in 1997 for United's 2-1 victory over Colorado in front of a sellout crowd of 57,431.
The past two title games were held at the new Pizza Hut Park in suburban Dallas.
