[ EXHIBIT ] "Image and Icon" Deconstructed The National Portrait Gallery's curator of prints and drawings, Wendy Wick Reaves, will pick out a portrait from the many depictions of Josephine Baker in the museum's new show and discuss it today. The show marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of Baker, a performer whose life became a symbol of the civil rights movement. [ THE SCENE ] '80s Dance Party Anniversary Club Heaven & Hell started its dance party, oh, about a minute after the '80s ended, and despite all logic, it worked. Thirteen years after the first dancers rocked out to Prince, Madonna and their ilk, the club's celebrating the anniversary of the weekly event with a bash featuring balloons, a champagne toast, party favors and, ooh, glow sticks. $6 (includes drink ticket). 9 p.m. 21 and older. 2327 18th St. NW. 202-667-4355.

[ OPENING ] "Noises Off" Arena Stage's latest is a revival of the classic Broadway play, about British actors' madcap staging of a play. [ HOLIDAYS ] Lobster Boy Christmas Extravaganza Lobster Boy, unfortunately for all of us, is neither lobster nor boy but a man in red lobster suit. Still, Lobster, um, Man managed to snare us with his wild pleas for attention ("Fire-Eating Elves! Crazy Christmas carols! Reindeer games!" we read). This unusual celebration of Christmas, complete with sizable vaudeville crew, will be at Chief Ike's Mambo Room on Saturday. $15. 8 p.m. 1725 Columbia Rd. NW. 202-332-2211.
