Carolina quarterback Jake Delhomme missed practice again yesterday with a sprained right thumb, making it likely he'll miss his third straight game.

Delhomme hasn't played or practiced since suffering ligament damage in his right thumb on Dec. 4 at Philadelphia. Chris Weinke started in his place in losses to the New York Giants and Pittsburgh, and will probably start again Sunday at Atlanta.

Weinke practiced despite being added to the injury report as probable with a sore chest.

· FALCONS: Quarterback Michael Vick took snaps with the first-team offense in practice, increasing the likelihood his groin strain won't keep him from starting against Carolina.

Falcons Coach Jim Mora listed Vick as probable for the second straight day.

· BENGALS: Carson Palmer fully participated in practice, saying his passing shoulder was fine. He was listed as probable for the game in Denver.

· 49ERS: Ronald Fields didn't even realize he had broken his arm during practice until a day later, when his season ended because of the injury. San Francisco put its starting defensive tackle on injured reserve.

The 49ers re-signed defensive tackle Lance Legree to replace Fields, who apparently was hurt during a drill on Wednesday. He didn't think anything about the injury until yesterday morning, when X-rays revealed the break.
