Sign Here, our funny sign contest, relies on roving shutterbugs -- and you don't disappoint. Our call for shots of mangled spelling and ironic juxtapositions is answered with the hundreds of photos you send us each year. Some leave us scratching our heads; others make us guffaw. A rummage sale sign hung on a cemetery fence, an emergency exit blocked by a live bear: These and other recent winners of our funny sign contest are a testament to the unintentionally hilarious and poorly edited world there is out there, just waiting to be captured by your camera.

On the flipside, no, we haven't seen them all, but while we're examining the hundreds of entries we receive each month for our funny sign contest, we invariably see the same contenders pop up over and over. Now, just in time to fill that awkward elbow at the bottom of a Christmas stocking, we're awarding Travel section paperweights to some of the ol' reliables that reappear constantly in our mailbag. Consider it our little holiday gift to you. And don't ever send another one of these to us again.

Here's how you can enter your own:

Write your name, contact information and caption on the back of your photo.

Photos may be in color or black-and-white. Send prints or photo-quality printouts to Travel Section Sign Contest, 1150 15th St. NW, Washington, D.C. 20071. Winners receive a paperweight. Photos become property of The Post, which may edit, publish, distribute or republish them in any form. No purchase necessary.
