The Redskins took a 28-14 lead after Betts scored on a seven-yard run to cap an 11-play, 72-yard drive that lasted 6 minutes 11 seconds. The long play of the possession was a 19-yard pass to Duckett. The Rams needed five plays on their ensuing series to cut the deficit to seven. On third down and four from the Rams 36, Marc Bulger dumped a short pass to Steven Jackson, who turned the play into a 64-yard touchdown. On his way to the end zone, Jackson faked Sean Taylor so badly that the safety was barely able to get a hand on him as he was backpedaling. Stephen Davis, a former Redskin, caught a 10-yard touchdown on the Rams' next possession to tie it.
