Turn Off the Funding Tap

So congressional inaction means that some of the representatives' pet projects will not be funded [front page, Dec. 17]. All I can say is "Thank God!"

Except for Veterans Affairs and the Justice Department, what in the world is the federal government doing funding these things? I hope, but doubt, that the prediction that most of these items won't be funded until 2008 is true.
