With so many outings Sunday priced to have you welcoming the New Year with a negative bank balance, it's nice to know the best things in life (art, food, good company) can still be had for a pittance. And on New Year's Eve at that.
On Sunday the Warehouse Gallery throws its annual ArtRomp -- essentially one big opening -- with 40 established and emerging artists showing paintings, sculpture, video, photography and other works; music; and perhaps the most exciting thing we've heard of in a long time -- a free picnic in the parking lot (get there about 7:30 for the hot dogs, burgers and vegan burgers they're cooking up on a grill). Among the works you can expect to see: The Basquiat-esque paintings of Matt Sesow, massive steel sculptures by Nooni Reatig and cute pop works of Heather Levy.
The show will also feature performances by that underwater cutup Lobster Boy and his fabulous Revue as well as theater-production-in-residence "Son of a Bush."
