(HealthDay News) -- If you see someone who has been struck by lightning, here are suggestions on what to do, courtesy of the American Red Cross:

Call 911 immediately.It is safe to touch the person, as they cannot transfer lightning or its electrical charge to someone else.Check the person for burns, which can emerge anywhere on the body. Also look for broken bones, or damage to the nervous system, hearing, or eyesight.If the person is not breathing or the heart has stopped, administer CPR at once.
