The Giants carried their momentum beyond halftime thanks to an early Washington blunder. On the Redskins' first possession of the half, Jason Campbell threw a poor pass over the middle that caromed off Kevin Dockery and into the arms of safety Jason Bell. On New York's ensuing possession, a questionable 31-yard pass interference call on Taylor led to an Eli Manning-to-Tim Carter touchdown pass, stretching the Giants' lead to 20. The Redskins then countered with an 11-play, 69-yard drive, scoring when Campbell found Betts in the end zone on a fourth-down play. After his dominant first half, Barber ended the quarter with four carries for 20 yards.
