The Giants played their best quarter in the last two months, and it put them in great position to push into the playoffs. Playing in what could be his final game, running back Tiki Barber scored on a 15-yard run two minutes into the quarter to give the Giants a 10-7 advantage. About eight minutes later, Barber took another handoff, broke away from Reed Doughty and Sean Taylor and raced 55 yards for another touchdown. The Giants had another touchdown negated by a penalty in the final minute of the quarter. They settled instead for a 31-yard field goal by Feely and a 13-point lead.
