How long are the memories of Redskins supporters? Well, longer than seven weeks. When much-maligned quarterback Mark Brunell took the field for the first time since Nov. 12, he was roundly booed by the home crowd, despite the efforts of some scattered optimists to silence the critics. Not everyone, though, was unhappy; large swaths of Giants fans cheered Brunell's appearance.

Mark Brunell wasn't the only long-absent player to reappear last night. Safety Adam Archuleta, who hadn't played on defense in more than a month after signing a lucrative contract during the offseason, took the field for several snaps. After one fourth-quarter play, Archuleta received an enthusiastic slap on the helmet from fellow safety Sean Taylor despite being far from the action.
