The King has been gone for almost 30 years, but he still gets the royal treatment every year around his birthday on Jan. 8. This weekend, in honor of Elvis Presley's 72nd, Chick Hall's Surf Club in Bladensburg is throwing a dance party called"Surfin' With the King."Elvis is usually associated with Memphis and Vegas, but this party will be like the 1961 film "Blue Hawaii" come to life. Hall is going all out with Elvis trivia questions, birthday cake and mai tai drink specials. Come dressed as Elvis for a shot to win prizes in the look-alike contest, including some items straight from the Graceland gift shop. The Hula Monsters and the surf-guitar band Reverb Galaxy will perform. $15. Saturday 8 p.m.-1 a.m. 4711 Kenilworth Ave., Bladensburg. 301-927-6310.

Dr. Dremo's Taphouse in Arlington is hosting the"Night of 101 Elvises."The winner of the costume contest takes home $100, but there are perks just for trying: Slip on that white sequined jumpsuit and Dremo's will waive the cover charge and you'll move to the front of the line. Bring your best lip curl and hip gyrations for Elvis karaoke. $10. Saturday 7 p.m.-2 a.m. 2001 Clarendon Blvd., Arlington. 703-528-4660.

To get the look, try Masters Costumes. They haveElvis costumesavailable at all five Northern Virginia locations (but maybe not for long, so go early). Hint: Print out a $10-off coupon from http://www.masterscostumes.com before you go. Perfect for trying to win prize money -- or just running around the house, posing dramatically in front of the mirror. $75 to rent. Monday, Thursday and Friday 9 a.m.-9 p.m., Tuesday and Wednesday 9 a.m.-7 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Sunday noon-5 p.m. 3840 S. Four Mile Run Dr., Arlington. 703-820-8880.
