Adapted from a recipe by Natalie Bovis-Nelson of the Liquid Muse, a cocktail blog.
4 tablespoons rum
1 teaspoon brown sugar
1 cinnamon stick
1 clove
1 to 1 1/2 cups boiling cider
(depending on mug size)
Dash of vanilla
1 teaspoon butter
Lemon peel, for garnish
Pour rum and sugar into a mug. Boil spices and cider, then add to mug. Float butter on top. Garnish with a twist of lemon peel or whipped cream.
