SINUS SURGERY
Southern Maryland Hospital Center (17) recently installed image-guided technology for sinus surgeries to correct repeated sinus infections, breathing problems and congenital abnormalities or polyps. A three-dimensional model of the patient's sinus cavity and surrounding anatomy is created to help surgeons navigate through complex sinus passages.
RABIES ALERT
A high rate of rabies infections in animals has been reported in Southern Maryland over the past year. Rabies is a disease spread through the saliva of a rabid animal when it bites or scratches another animal or a human.
