Events in celebration of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday:
THE DISTRICT
· The Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Peace Walk will be at 9 a.m. today. Participants will meet at the Big Chair, 2101 Martin Luther King Jr. Ave. SE. This event is a prelude to the parade April 7. For information on the walk, call 202-561-4101. For information on the parade, call 202-698-1668.
· The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington is sponsoring a diversity book party at the Mary and Daniel Loughran Clubhouse, No. 10, 2500 14th St. NW, at noon today. Participants will read their submissions, sign books and participate in a discussion about diversity. 202-673-6941.
· The "Let Freedom Ring!" concert will be at 6 p.m. today at the Kennedy Center Concert Hall, 2700 F St. NW. Brian McKnight and hip-hop violin duo Nuttin But Stringz will perform with the Let Freedom Ring choir. The John Thompson Legacy of a Dream award also will be presented to the first ladies of Zambia, Ethiopia and Rwanda for their work with an HIV-AIDS organization.
· The Interracial Family Circle will host a celebration featuring dancing, drumming, arts, crafts and readings, from 1 to 4 p.m. today at All Souls Church, 1500 Harvard St. NW. http:/
