HIALEAH, Fla. -- A pipe bomb was found attached to the car of a federal witness Sunday, but was detonated without incident, authorities said.
"He was driving around," said FBI spokeswoman Judy Orihuela. "He somehow saw something on his car that was suspicious and drove it to the Hialeah Police Department."

The Miami-Dade bomb squad detonated the device, and the FBI's Joint Terrorism Task Force was investigating, Orihuela said.
No details about the witness, the federal case or the vehicle were released. It was unclear whether the device was removed from the vehicle before being detonated.
