ROBBERIES
CHAIN BRIDGE AND HUNTER MILL ROADS,10 p.m. Jan. 17. A man walked up behind a 19-year-old pedestrian and grabbed her hair, then tried to take her coat and purse. She struggled, but he ran off with a bag she was carrying.
THEFTS/BREAK-INS
BARNSFIELD AND CENTREVILLE ROADS. Fifteen hundred pounds of aluminum was stolen from a construction trailer.
CHAIN BRIDGE RD.,2900 block. A cellphone was stolen from a business.
METROTECH DR.,13900 block. Beer was stolen from a residence.
WHITE GRANITE DR.,10400 block. Cash was stolen from a purse at a business.
MOTOR VEHICLE THEFTS
CROSS KEYS CT.,13100 block. A 1977 Chevy was stolen.
FEDERALIST WAY,11800 block. A 1995 Toyota Camry was stolen.
LOSTON CIR.,12500 block. A 1998 Acura was stolen.
SAINT REGENTS DR.,3000 block. A 1997 Honda Accord was stolen.
