In seeking the suspension of Smarta/Broadway's alcohol license, police cited five incidents in the past eight months in and around the nightclub:

· Jan. 20: Taleshia Ford was fatally shot when another patron's gun went off during a scuffle with a bouncer.

· Nov. 19: Police, responding to a call of fighting, smelled marijuana circulating throughout the club, determined there were no ID checks of patrons purchasing drinks and saw intoxicated minors just outside the club.

· Nov. 18: A minor leaving the club was stabbed four times.

· June 12: After two groups of patrons fought, a man left the club, got a gun, returned and fired twice into the sidewalk.

· June 1: Police arrested a patron in the club for possession of cocaine.
