BOSTON -- The Coast Guard was searching Thursday night for a 52-foot fishing vessel with two crew members on board after detecting a distress signal, officials said.
The Lady Luck out of Newburyport was last reported about 12 miles southeast off the coast of Cape Elizabeth, Maine, at 2 a.m. Thursday, the Coast Guard said. It was headed for Gloucester.

The missing crew members were identified by authorities as Sean Cone, 24, of North Andover, the vessel's master; and crewman Dan Miller, 21, of North Hampton, N.H.
The Coast Guard deployed a Falcon jet, a helicopter, and three cutters to the area to search. The Canadian Coast Guard and other fishing vessels were assisting.
Debris and an oil sheen were located by the helicopter near the vessel's last known location. David Goethel, a commercial fisherman from Hampton, said the fishing communities "haven't given up hope."
