Each of the four largest wireless providers imposes some restrictions on its users. Here are some examples:
Verizon Wireless
·Sometimes disables Bluetooth connectivity to devices other than headsets.
·Limits broadband use.
·Most phones only accept software downloaded from Verizon's Get It Now service.
·Can only use phones made for Verizon network.
·Charges a fee for each camera phone photo transfer via e-mail.
Cingular (AT&T)
·Holds exclusive U.S. rights to offer Apple's iPhone.
·"Locks" phones to prevent them from being used with other carriers, but may unlock them on request.
·Limits broadband use.
·Charges for photo transfers via e-mail.
