SALT LAKE CITY -- The Utah Jazz and center Mehmet Okur have agreed on a two-year contract extension that runs through 2012.
Okur is entering the last year of the original deal he signed with Utah as a free agent in 2004. He could have opted out of the final season, but decided on the final day to stay with the Jazz.
Terms of the deal announced Friday were not released.
Okur started 72 games last season, averaging 17 points and almost eight rebounds. He has averaged 16 points and eight boards since joining the Jazz.
