[ CONCERT ] The Arcade Fire Returns to Much Larger Digs More than two years after its last appearance here, a sell-out show at the 9:30 club, the Arcade Fire returns to Washington on May 4 to DAR Constitution Hall, a much less hip venue, but one you'll have a better chance of getting into. Lest you dismiss these guys as a one-note wonder, know that the Canadians, who will be promoting their March release, "Neon Bible," caused much distress with their five-night stand at New York's Judson Memorial Church last week. Tickets were so sought-after, so desired, some New Yorkers were trading riches and even marriage proposals to get them. Tickets go on sale Saturday at 10 a.m. $30. 8 p.m. 1776 D St. NW. 202-397-7328.
[ EXHIBIT ] The Music Project WVSA ARTiculate Gallery's next show, still in the making, will be a collection of paintings of music iconography, the favorite images from rock, jazz and hip-hop. As with its popular show of dog portraits, the gallery, which trains D.C. youth with special needs in the arts and exhibits their work, is seeking music fans to commission works from its students. [ FOR FAMILIES ] Orchid Extravaganza The National Museum of Natural History throws a family-centric festival March 3 in conjunction with its exhibition "Orchids: Take a Walk on the Wild Side." The museum will offer opportunities to color botanical prints, go on a scavenger hunt and get tips on cultivating those gorgeous but ridiculously delicate blooms.
