The Washington Wizards were not reveling in the news that Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade suffered a dislocated left shoulder Wednesday night and is expected to miss several weeks, even though the injury could have a profound impact on the Eastern Conference playoff race.
The Wizards entered last night's game against Sacramento leading the Heat and Orlando Magic by five games in the Southeast Division. The Wizards will play the Heat three more times, including Wednesday at Verizon Center.
"As much as you guys [reporters] might think that we're happy about it, we're not," Wizards Coach Eddie Jordan said. "The guy has suffered a severe injury and we hope he gets well. We coached him in the All-Star Game and got to know him a little bit, so we hope he comes out pretty good."
Marking His 'Passion'
While in Las Vegas for All-Star Weekend, Jordan had the word "Passion" tattooed under an existing tattoo of a basketball. Jordan also has a tattoo of his wife's first name, Charisse, on his left breast and the names of his children, son Jackson and daughter Skyler, on his left arm.
Second Trip to Second City
Last night's game kicked off a tough stretch that features five games in seven days. Tonight, the Wizards make their second visit to Chicago, where they were blasted, 112-94, on Dec. 2. The Wizards repaid the Bulls with a 113-103 win at Verizon Center on Jan. 10.
