IF YOU GO: The Tate Modern is on the south bank of the River Thames at Bankside between Blackfriars Bridge and Millennium Bridge. Southwark (Jubilee Line) and Blackfriars (District and Circle lines) are the closest underground stations, both of which are about a 10-minute walk from the museum.
Admission to the museum and the slides is free, although you must wait in line for timed tickets to the taller slides. The slide exhibit runs through April 15. Tickets to the newly opened Gilbert & George exhibition cost about $20.
The museum is open at 10 a.m. daily, closing at 6 p.m. Sunday-Thursday and 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Info: 011-44-20-7887-8008,http:/
