CHICAGO, Feb. 23 -- Slowly but steadily, Wizards forward Darius Songaila is finding his legs after missing training camp, the preseason and the first 45 games of the regular season with a lower back injury.

On Friday night, against a Bulls team for which he played last season, Songaila took another step by playing on consecutive nights for the first time since making his Wizards debut against the Lakers on Feb. 3.

Songaila is averaging 13.1 minutes while splitting time between power forward and center. He said he didn't anticipate any problems with playing a back-to-back set of games.

"I'm getting there," said Songaila, who is averaging four points and two rebounds while shooting 37 percent (10 of 27). "I'm not there yet and I can feel that when out there on the court, but I'm doing my best."

Songaila is a part of a playing rotation that has grown since he and forward-center Michael Ruffin returned. In three games before Friday night, Coach Eddie Jordan used between 10 and 12 players.

"The main thing is, I want to get guys in," Jordan said. "I want to win and I want to get ready for April, May and June and it's going to help us twofold: It's going to get some guys some rest who have been carrying a lot of minutes to this point, and it's going to keep our bigs competing against one another from a basketball standpoint."

The rotation promises to get deeper when forward Antawn Jamison returns from a left knee sprain. Jamison is making steady progress and is a week and a half to two weeks away from returning, according to Jordan.
