A Warning to Democrats

Regarding the Feb. 21 front-page article "The Woman in the Middle; Moderate Democrat Is New Target of Liberal Bloggers":

As a staunch liberal Democrat since supporting Franklin D. Roosevelt when I was a first-grader in 1940, I am most saddened to read of the efforts of some ideological party members to discredit, and possibly defeat, Rep. Ellen O. Tauscher (D-Calif.) because of her moderate stands on a few issues. She has served her district, nation and party well. The surest way to return the Republican majority is to devour our own.
