As of press time, you could jet nonstop to eight islands from Reagan National, Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall and Washington Dulles International airports. It's also possible to fly nonstop on charter package deals through such companies as Apple Vacations and Liberty Travel.

The information below is subject to change; fares cited are round trip and include taxes and fees.

· Aruba. United Airlines (800-241-6522,http://www.united.com) offers flights Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from Dulles to Reina Beatrix International Airport. Flight time is 4 1/2 hours. Fares from $416.

· Bahamas. US Airways (800-428-4322,http://www.usairways.com) offers daily flights from Reagan National to Lynden Pindling International Airport in Nassau; from $290. United has departures from Dulles on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays; from $284. Flight time from both airports is 2 1/2 hours.

· Bermuda. USA3000 Airlines (877-872-3000,http://www.usa3000.com) flies from BWI to Bermuda International Airport on Thursdays and Sundays. Tuesday service is scheduled to begin March 20, and Monday flights are scheduled starting in May; from $261. US Airways offers flights on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays from Reagan National, from $340. Additional flights Mondays and Thursdays are scheduled April 1 to 15. Flight time from both airports is two hours.

· Dominican Republic. USA3000 flies from BWI to Punta Cana International and La Romana International airports. Flights to Punta Cana are on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays; from $397. One weekly flight to La Romana is on Saturdays; from $475. United also flies from Dulles to Punta Cana on Saturdays; from $624. Flight time to both airports is about 3 1/2 hours.

· Jamaica. Air Jamaica (800-523-5585,http://www.airjamaica.com) flies daily from BWI to Montego Bay's Donald Sangster International Airport; from $466. United departs from Dulles to Montego Bay on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays; from $366. Flight time is 3 1/2 hours.

· Puerto Rico. US Airways flies from Dulles to San Juan Luis Muñoz Marin International Airport on Saturdays and Sundays through May 5; from $242. Nonstop service is scheduled to resume in December. Flight time is 3 hours 45 minutes. United and American Airlines (800-433-7300,http://www.aa.com) offer daily flights from Dulles; both from $302.

· St. Martin/St. Maarten. United offers flights on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays from Dulles to Princess Juliana International Airport; fares from $476. Flight time is four hours.

· U.S. Virgin Islands. United offers flights on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays from Dulles to St. Thomas's Cyril E. King International Airport; fares from $316. Flight time is four hours.
