Malik Byrd, who was 14 at the time of the shooting, was sentenced to 18 years by another circuit court judge. Malik Byrd will be held in a juvenile facility until he turns 18, then transferred to a prison.

Lake Ridge Teenager Dies of Injuries Sustained in February Car Accident
A Lake Ridge teenager who was injured in a Feb. 25 crash died Monday, Prince William County police said yesterday.
Jeffery Sanchez, 15, was riding in the back seat of a 2007 Isuzu Trooper that went out of control on Old Bridge Road after hitting a patch of ice, police said. The vehicle veered off the road, hit a tree and flipped.
Two adults in the front seat suffered minor injuries, and a juvenile in the back seat was treated at the scene, police said. Sanchez, who suffered a head injury, was taken to a hospital, where he died.

Rep. Davis Undergoing Treatment For Recurrence of Breast Cancer
U.S. Rep. Jo Ann Davis said yesterday that her breast cancer has returned and that she has begun chemotherapy.
"While undergoing treatment for other medical procedures in February, it was discovered that I have a re-occurrence of cancer," Davis (R-Va.) said in a statement. "This cancer is treatable, and I have just begun chemotherapy and I am very confident of a full recovery. I was able to beat this disease before, and I will beat it once again."
Davis received the first diagnosis of breast cancer in fall 2005 and underwent chemotherapy treatments and a mastectomy.
Davis, 56, has represented the 1st District, which includes Fredericksburg, Stafford County and part of Prince William County, since 2001.
