Here are the percentages of eighth-graders in the Washington region's school systems who completed algebra or a higher-level mathematics course in 2002 and 2006. Educators consider algebra a critical course to enable further math studies in high school. Figures for 2002 were not available for the District or for Fauquier, Frederick or Prince William counties.
