Regarding "Bromwell Boasted of Comcast Ties" [Metro, March 22]:
I was dumbfounded at the apparent ignorance of both former Maryland state senator Thomas L. Bromwell and the courts that deemed the late fees excessive.
As any intelligent customer -- or former customer of Comcast Cable Communications Inc., as I proudly am -- can tell you, those late fees are charged on services not even delivered yet. Comcast, unlike most other monthly consumer providers, bills its customers a month in advance.
Just imagine how much interest is generated on Comcast's revenue for one month. Perhaps Comcast could put some of those ill-gotten gains into its customer service division.
