BOUNDARIES: Accepted boundaries have varied over the years, but according to the city's Office of Planning, Deanwood is bounded by Eastern Avenue to the northeast, Kenilworth Avenue to the west, 56th Street to the east and Marvin Gaye Park to the south.

SCHOOLS: D.C. public schools serving Deanwood include Aiton, Houston, Shaed and Smothers elementary schools; Ronald H. Brown, Kelly Miller and Merritt middle schools; H.D. Woodson Senior High School.

WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE: Minnesota Avenue and Deanwood Metro stations, Marvin Gaye Park.

WITHIN 10 MINUTES BY CAR: Langston Golf Course, Anacostia Park, RFK Stadium, D.C. Armory.

HOME SALES: In the past year, 205 houses have sold at prices from $110,000 to $480,000, according to Dale Mattison of Long & Foster. There are 76 on the market, priced from $149,900 to $650,000. In addition, 52 condominiums have sold at prices from $110,000 to $250,000. There are 18 condos on the market, priced from $163,900 to $250,000.
