No. 7 Osbourn scored in double figures in all six games in repeating as Hawaiian Tropic Classic champions last week in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
In the tournament final, the defending Northwestern Region champion Eagles beat defending Northern Region champion Lake Braddock, 10-8.
"We're a warm-weather team, it looks like," said Osbourn Coach Keith Howell, whose Eagles (9-1) totaled 83 runs at the beach. This, after being shut out, 9-0, on a chilly afternoon at Forest Park before leaving town.
Senior Mike Walters hit five home runs in the tournament, including an inside-the-park shot, and senior Sean McCauley, the event's most valuable player, continued his torrid start to the season by boosting his batting average to .808 (21 for 26) and picking up two wins on the mound.
Senior Brett Howell earned three wins, including in relief in the championship.
