MADRID, Spain (AP) _ Racing Santander got two late penalties to beat Real Madrid 2-1 in the Spanish league.

Ezequiel Garay scored the first in the 72nd minute after Lionel Scaloni was brought down by Mahmadou Diarra. Madrid defender Fabio Cannavaro then brought down Nikola Zigic and Garay converted the second in the 90th minute.

Madrid captain Raul Gonzalez gave his team the lead in the 33rd minute when Racing goalkeeper Antonio Rodriguez failed to hold his shot at the Nuevo Sardinero stadium.

David Beckham, who has an injured knee, did not travel for the game. The former England captain is expected to be healthy again by the time he joins the Los Angeles Galaxy in August.

ROME (AP) _ Juventus maintained its seven-point lead in Itay's second division, beating Lecce 3-1.

Mauro Camoranesi scored one goal and set up another for Marco Marchionni. Marcelo Zalayeta also scored for Juventus, which started the season with a nine-point penalty from the Italian match-fixing scandal. Tiziano Polenghi scored for Lecce.

Juventus leads the league with 65 points. Second-place Genoa has 58 points after beating Bologna 3-0 Friday.

Sixth-place Empoli was held to a 0-0 tie by Cagliari in Italy's first division, hurting the Tuscan team's chances of playing in next season's UEFA Cup.
