During our online chat (most Mondays at 2 p.m.), you ask and we answer your questions -- mostly. Here's one we couldn't answer last week.
I'm going on my honeymoon. We're starting in Paris and haven't decided whether to go to Bordeaux or Biarritz. What would be best for a relaxing trip (including a wine trip or two)?
According to spokeswoman Jessie Latham, the folks at the New York office of the French Government Tourist Office think that "Bordeaux is the way to go" for a wine trip. Bordeaux Tourism ( http://www.bordeaux-tourisme.com/) offers wine-related itinerary ideas, and the Global Network of Great Wine Capitals ( http://www.greatwinecapitals.com/) has info on winery routes. But if you're also into beaches, Latham points out that "Biarritz is more popular with young people and surfers." Bonus: The town is known for its spas. More info: Biarritz Tourism, http://www.biarritz.fr/.
