Kucinich Eyes Cheney Impeachment
Rep. Dennis J. Kucinich (D-Ohio) is expected to announce today at a news conference that he will file articles of impeachment against Vice President Cheney.
On April 17, Kucinich's office circulated a "Dear Colleague" letter informing lawmakers that he would seek Cheney's impeachment and that the office would make available "a confidential copy of the document prior to its introduction in the House."
Details of Kucinich's allegations against the vice president were not available last night, but he has been a fervent opponent of the Bush administration on nearly every issue, particularly the war in Iraq.
Kucinich, one of the most liberal members of Congress, is waging a long-shot campaign for president for the second time.
Cheney spokeswoman Megan McGinn told the Associated Press that the vice president has served the nation honorably for almost 40 years.
